"I founded Lady Decorators, my Sussex-based all-female team of interior decorators, in 2003.
After renovating several properties I had grown increasingly frustrated with the lack of reliable, considerate and competent tradespeople. So, seeing a gap in the market and with experience in the industry, I took the plunge and decided to start my own company. Despite painting and decorating being an industry traditionally dominated by men, I wanted to do things a little differently with a clear objective of building a business based on providing an outstanding, flawless interior finish and fantastic customer service.
Based in Horsham and covering areas in Sussex and Surrey, I have worked hard to build a team of skilful and likeminded interior decorators to provide a personal, reliable and meticulous service, predominantly for homeowners, but also for interior designers and builders. Customer satisfaction is very important and we frequently enjoy repeat business and work from client recommendations.
When it comes to achieving an immaculate finish, preparation is key and we are highly experienced in dealing with everything from painting or papering onto brand new fresh plaster to more problematic issues such as surface damage, damp stains, efflorescence, mould and mildew as well as making good cracks, dents and other imperfections.
I'm incredibly proud to be one of the few Trading Standards Approved female interior decorators in my field and, along with my all-female team, we have built a successful business based on our skill, unerring eye for detail and high quality finishing.
I know all too well that having tradespeople in your home can be a somewhat intrusive experience but with Lady Decorators, we endeavour to keep stress and disruption to a minimum – we are always considerate and attentive; we are happy to help homeowners move their furniture and remove curtains and blinds in preparation for decoration; we cover upholstery, furnishings and floors with protective sheeting and ensure that we are clean and tidy at all times.
